Asus U46SV has been officially released in Europe

ASUS U46SV contents with the likes of the Macbook Air in some-ways, both this ASUS and the Macbook Air are portable notebooks. The ASUS U46SV is at a disadvantage size wise but with that size the laptop is allowed to have a discrete graphics and full-voltage processors. But the performance advantages are a double-edged sword for the ASUS because the laptops included 4 or 8-cell batteries will be more often than not die quicker than a Macbook air(HP Pavilion dv9000).

However, if you're to compare specifications (ASUS Full specs) to specifications (apple full specs) you do get more with the ASUS than the more expensive Apple ultra-thin. With the ASUS you get more RAM, faster processors, faster graphics, USB 3.0 (the Air's Thunderbolt port is the better I/O port but it's not as widely adopted yet), HDMI, and a built-in DVD SuperMulti drive(HP Pavilion dv7).

Currently the ASUS U46SV is only available in Europe but a US based website but the name of GentechPC is taking pre-orders in the US for the notebook if you don't mind their $936 price.
